KTN & UKCPN hosted two workshops on the Business-led R&D Competition for the Smart Sustainable Plastic Packaging Challenge at the end of July. Recordings now available.

On 22nd and 23rd July KTN & UKCPN hosted workshops to enable collaborations to be built through presentations and breakout out rooms for the Smart Sustainable Plastic Packaging Business-led R&D competition. The recordings for these are below.

ISCF SSPP Business Led R&D Collaboration Building Workshop – How do we get Reuse and refill adopted at scale?

Thursday 22nd July 2021, 10:00 – 12:30 | Online

This competition provides a great opportunity for organisations to work collaboratively together to look at novel technologies and business models to rapidly increase the uptake of reuse and refill. This workshop was used to enable collaborations to be built in this specific topic area through presentations and breakout out rooms.

ISCF SSPP Business Led R&D Collaboration Building Workshop – Considerations for end-of-life compostable packaging

Friday 23rd July, 10:00 – 12:30 | Online

This competition provides a great opportunity for organisations to work collaboratively together to look at new products and technologies in compostable consumer packaging. However, any solutions must consider what will happen at the end of life of the packaging. This workshop was used to enable collaborations to be built in this specific topic area through presentations and breakout out rooms.

You can find out more about the competition, whereby UK registered businesses can apply for a share of up to £7 million for R&D projects with the potential to significantly impact the 2025 UK Plastic Pact targets, here.
