About Denise

Denise is the Marine plastics manager at Innovate UK Business Connect. As a marine scientist and educator, Denise has extensive experience of anthropogenic impacts on the marine & freshwater environment and champions the importance of healthy oceans to address climate change. Her particular areas of interest include investment in plastics circularity across all sectors, micro plastics, ocean bound plastics, beach clean plastics and fishing gear (recyclable, recovered, redesigned, lost or discarded).

Denise joined the Innovate UK Business Connect Materials team in 2021 and continues to work with all sectors and stakeholders to enable sustainable use of plastics through collaboration and innovation exchange.
