Since joining Innovate UK Business Connect Steve, a biochemist has worked with smart and advanced functional materials and their use in smart and technical textiles. After a period of four years working with QinetiQ on a number of projects that included smart textiles Steve rejoined Innovate UK Business Connect to run an innovation network on metamaterials before taking on his current role of KTM Smart Materials and Technical Textiles.

Steve is currently working with a wide variety of stakeholders in the textiles and fashion industries to understand the activities in addressing sustainability and circularity. The spread of interest includes smart wearables as well as technical textiles and textiles and fashion, seeking to understand what innovation and technology can bring to the supply chains from design through to end of life and the implications for materials.
